Warriors turned to chum, Sharks take bite

Warriors take the loss in a 1 to 8 ball game. After the tough loss, manager Matt Carter had this to say:

“It’s still early in the season and our goal today was different than you might expect. We have a young and healthy roster and one of the challenges we have at the start of any season is figuring out where we want our guys to be in the lineup, on the field, and in the bullpen. Today we experimented with some pitchers and we kept the leashes loose so we could see how the pitchers fared in tough situations.

We played a tight defense game but ultimately our bats never turned on. It’s hard to compete when you can’t put runs on the board. I’m confident that we’ll iron out our bullpen order and that today was an offensive fluke.

Regardless of how we did the Sharks did great. Their pitchers were on and dominant and their offense was consistent. They played a great game of baseball; I just wish we could have played with them today.

Today is over and now we set our sights on our next match up which luckily for us is the Sharks again so we’ll have a short time before we get our opportunity to try to make the adjustments we need to make.

I got a great group of guys on my roster and I don’t have a doubt that we’ll come back stronger next time.
